Our original Christchurch City Sightseeing tour has been modified as much of the central Christchurch city remains inaccessible.  However, this tour is no second best!  It takes in Lyttelton, Lyttelton Harbour, the Port Hills separating Christchurch from its port, and seeks out the always popular attractions.

HALF DAY TOUR: Christchurch City Sightseeing plus Lyttelton and Lyttelton Harbour

This half day trip departs from Christchurch and begins by taking in a few of our well known local attractions - Mona Vale, Deans Bush, and the Botanic Gardens.  We skirt our earthquake ravaged city before leaving to take the scenic route over the Port Hills; all that separate Lyttelton Harbour from the city of Christchurch.  At the top of these hills there are breathtaking views right down into Lyttelton harbour in one direction and, in the other, breathtaking views over Christchurch and across the Canterbury Plains to the distant snow covered Alps. Travelling south along the Summit Road the vista of the Canterbury Plains and our mountains opens up even more then, descending down into the harbour we take a beautiful drive around the bays to Lyttelton where we take a little time to leisurely explore this quaint historic town and working port.

DAY TOUR: Christchurch City Sightseeing plus Lyttelton and Lyttelton Harbour

A day tour which gives you a good overview of Christchurch and her setting on the edge of the Canterbury Plains with the Port Hills as backdrop.  You get to visit historic bush remnants now enclosed by the city and our beautiful gardens. We also ensure you get the opportunity to visit some of our well known and renowned attractions.

The morning is as per the half day tour described above and then after lunch there are a number of special attractions for you to choose from:

Punting on the Avon - yes, Christchurch's English heritage still shows;

The Antarctic Centre - a world renowned attraction which needs a minimum of two hours;

Willowbank Wildlife Park - an opportunity to see kiwis and other wildlife.
